Ground Breaking Engineering – “Quality Assured Delivered Safely” since 1957

Established in 1957 as a partnership by the brothers Ron and Charlie Williams. Six decades and thousands of successful projects later, that unparalleled commitment to quality remains true today, with a policy of continuous improvement operated throughout the whole organisation.

The values that Ron & Charlie instilled into the company still hold true today, centrally located in the heart of Spaghetti Junction, R&C Williams service the entire central region with unrivalled response rates coupled with expert local knowledge and experience to become the favoured choice for large and small civil engineering projects.

From a tiny two-man partnership the firm now employs over 70 people, rising to over a hundred at peak times. The company continues to be a friendly, approachable business with all key members of staff fully aware of the challenges which face clients. Members of the workforce have on average spent more than 15 years with the firm – a sure sign of both confidence and job satisfaction.

With an ever expanding talented workforce at its disposal, R&C Williams’ highly experienced and safety-conscious management team are totally committed to delivering excellence, reliability and responsive services to meet every client’s individual needs. And all with the personal touch and hands-on approach retained from the company’s humble beginnings.

We hold numerous accreditations ISO 9001, ISO 14001, BH OHSAS 18001, BS 11000 Collaborative Business Relationships, Achilles and CHAS. We are founder members of the Civil Engineering Contractors Association and for many years previous the Federation of Civil Engineering Contractors.
It is with great pride and pleasure we celebrate our 60th Anniversary. It is testimony to everyone who has worked with or for us, and supported R&C throughout the last 60 years, to what a splendid achievement this is.

We will be celebrating throughout the whole of 2017 with a series of events to commemorate this amazing milestone we have reached.

To celebrate our 60th Anniversary we are proud to announce that our workforce has chosen to support the Midlands Air Ambulance – Saving Lives by Saving Time.

The charity is funded entirely by voluntary donations, it operates seven days a week and attends life-threatening incidents across six Midlands counties. As a team, we’d feel safer knowing that should anyone be involved in an accident, help will arrive in the quickest possible time.

Thanking everyone for their cross-decade support.

A Trip Down Memory Lane

R&C Williams Sponsored Walk

Commemorating R&C Williams’ 60th Anniversary with a sponsored walk for
Midlands Air Ambulance Charity

Perry Barr Greyhound Stadium

Our first event was held at Perry Barr Greyhound Stadium in February – where employees, clients and suppliers celebrated together. Jack Dromey MP for Erdington took the time to attend and give a fantastic speech to our guests.

A fabulous evening was had by all – including Chris Priest the British Champion of Close-up Magic who left our guests gasping with amazement! We completed the event with a sponsored race and a celebratory cake – based on one of our Jetting Machines.

Uttoxeter Racecourse

Our second celebratory event was held at Uttoxeter Racecourse at the end of May. What a fun filled day it was and we were blessed with the glorious sunshine! Employees, clients and suppliers joined together to commemorate the fantastic milestone we’ve reached. Chris Priest Master Magician gave a spectacular show for our guests who were astounded by his talent. One of our employees Geoff organised a raffle, a special edition model horse from his collection, and raised an amazing £300 for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

Breakfast Morning

Our third anniversary event was held at our Spaghetti Junction depot. We welcomed everyone we’ve had any association with over the last 60 years to join us for breakfast! What a beautiful day we had for our celebration and a fantastic stream of guests. It was great to see lots of old faces as well as new! Thank you to everyone that took the time out of their busy schedules to join us for a breakfast bap and support our raffle for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

Kingsbury Water Park

Our fourth event was a Sponsored Walk / Bike Ride at Kingsbury Water Park with all proceeds going to The Midlands Air Ambulance Charity. Our aim was to choose an activity that would be applicable to all the family so we gave the option of two activities either to walk or bike ride and two distances of 4.5 miles or 9 miles. It was a great success with the weather on our side again! The charity brought along their decommissioned helicopter pod which the children loved to see and have photographs with! We had over 100 participants – raising a fantastic £2119 with sponsorship money still being received! It wouldn’t have been such a great day without the support from our employees, clients, suppliers plus all their family and friends that came along – we’d like say a BIG thank you to you all!

Midlands Air Ambulance Cheque Handover

On Monday 30th October we handed over a fantastic grand total of £3032.60 raised from our sponsored walk/bike ride and raffle! We’d like to thank each and every one of our supporters for helping us to achieve the amount raised.

A Comedy Night

Our fifth and final event – “A Comedy Night” was held at The Old Joint Stock Pub & Theatre, a Grade II listed building situated opposite Birmingham’s beautiful St Philip’s Cathedral, and right in the heart of the city centre.

It was a fantastic night full of laughter! With the theatre holding a comfortable 80 it was a small intimate gathering which gave it a much more personal feel. Our MC Wayne Beese organised an excellent line up of acts Vince Atta, Riordan DJ, Lindsey Santoro & John Robertson. Each had their own style of comedy but were equally brilliant and had the whole audience howling the entire set! We held a raffle to raise money for our chosen charity the Midlands Air Ambulance totaling a fantastic £615!

A huge thank you to all our guests for supporting this event and raising money for such a great charity.

We wanted to end our year of celebrations on a high and this event certainly left everyone in feel good spirits! Bring on the next 60 years!

“Thank You” Lunch & Certificate Presentation

We hosted a “thank you” lunch and certificate presentation to say a BIG thank you to our suppliers who went above and beyond to support our chosen charity. With your support not only have we achieved but exceeded our £6,000 target and raised a staggering £7,000 for the Midlands Air Ambulance. Thank you Ernest R Shaw, Construct-Equip, Traction Equipment, AA Installations, Instarmac, CLM, Smart Platforms, Mapei and Crown Highways.
